Is Lite really free forever?

Yes. DocuMerge Lite is published on the WordPress.org plugin directory under the GPLv2 licence. There’s no trial, no license key, no usage limit. The Pro version is an optional upgrade for users who need signatures, payments, or form-plugin integrations.

What’s the difference between Lite and Pro?

Lite handles the complete workflow for simple use cases: upload a DOCX, build a form with six basic field types, generate PDFs or DOCX, deliver via browser download. Pro adds:

  • Signature field
  • Stripe payment gating
  • Dropdown, radio, and checkbox fields
  • Conditional logic in forms and templates
  • Multi-step forms
  • Email delivery
  • Media library storage
  • reCAPTCHA v2/v3 and hCaptcha
  • Integrations with WPForms, Contact Form 7, Gravity Forms, Fluent Forms

Does DocuMerge work on WordPress multisite?

Yes. On multisite, each site has its own templates, forms, and submissions. There’s no network-wide settings page.

What server requirements are there?

WordPress 6.2+, PHP 7.4+ (8.1+ recommended), and the zip, mbstring, and gd PHP extensions. Most WordPress hosts have these enabled by default.

Does it work with my form plugin?

Lite has its own built-in form builder and doesn’t require another form plugin. Integration with WPForms, Contact Form 7, Gravity Forms, and Fluent Forms is a Pro feature.

Can I translate the plugin?

Yes. A .pot template ships with the plugin at /languages/. Use Poedit or Loco Translate to produce .po and .mo files for your language. Translations contributed back to WordPress.org become available to all users.

Is it GDPR compliant?

The plugin stores everything on your own server โ€” no third-party data transfer. You’re responsible for your own privacy policy, lawful basis, and data-retention rules. See the Privacy & Data page for guidance.

Can I rebrand / white-label the plugin?

Not in Lite. This is allowed under the GPL licence in principle, but customer-visible branding is part of the core product. For agency white-labelling options, contact us.

How do I report a bug or request a feature?

Post on the WordPress.org plugin support forum: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wprobo-documerge-lite โ€” or email hello@wprobo.com.

Will DocuMerge slow down my site?

No. The plugin only runs code on its own admin pages and on pages that embed a DocuMerge form. Pages without a form are unaffected.
