The setup wizard runs once after first activation. It takes about two minutes and configures sensible defaults. You can re-run it later from DocuMerge → Settings → Advanced.
Step 1 — Welcome
Confirms installation and gives you a quick summary of what the plugin does.
Step 2 — Detection
The plugin scans your site for existing form plugins (WPForms, Contact Form 7, Gravity Forms, Fluent Forms). If any are detected, you’ll see a note — integration with those plugins is a Pro feature. The Lite version uses its own built-in form builder.
Step 3 — Configuration
Choose your defaults:
- Output format — PDF, DOCX, or both. Default is PDF.
- Delivery methods — Browser download and/or email attachment (email requires Pro). Default is browser download.
- Document storage — Keep generated documents permanently or delete after delivery. Default is keep.
These are defaults only. Every form can override them individually.
Step 4 — Done
The wizard confirms your choices and provides two shortcuts: upload your first template, or go to the dashboard.
Changing settings later
Every choice in the wizard can be changed later at DocuMerge → Settings. The wizard is a convenience, not a one-time decision.
